Boots on the Ground Design Workshop

In April 2021, two “Boots on the Ground” Design Workshops took place at the Sears Sunken Garden. Each session brought together a small group of local residents and design experts (landscape architects, architects, planners, community organizers, and horticulturists) to brainstorm plan layout and composition, using paper mockups, site plans, 3D models, and planting materials.

The purpose of the workshops was a strategic sharing of expertise and creation of a common vocabulary to describe the vision for the garden. The paper mockups allowed participants to experience the watercolor style of planting that Roy Diblik had described in previous presentations.
